Julvört - Swedish Christmas Worth Bread (Gluten Free)

This is a traditional Swedish Christmas bread using not so traditional ingredients

  • 1 can Black beans rinsed
  • 5 tbsp Fiber syrup (or any other liquid sweetener)
  • 3 1/2 dl Oat flour
  • 2 1/2 dl Filmjölk (Soure milk, thin yogurt or similar (do not use a thick greek yogurt))
  • 1 tbsp Psyllium husk
  • 1 3/4 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Cloves
  • 2 1/2 tsp Ginger
  • 2 1/2 tsp Pomegranate


  • Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius.
  • Add the black beans to a blender and mix until smooth. It's ok if there still are some smaller pieces left.
  • Add the filmjölk and liquid sweetener to the beans and mix again.
  • In a seperate bowl combine oat flour, psyllium husk, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and pomegrante.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the mixer and lix until just combined.
  • Greese a loaf pan or use parchmentpaper. Add the batter to the pan and bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let it cool before cutting it.
