As you might know, I love making small snacks that can be served as finger food, pre-dinner snack and appetizers. It’s nice to just sit down, wind down and get into dinner mode before the dinner actually starts. It doesn’t have to be complicated, advanced or time consuming. Like these spicy shrimp bites. They are made with a few easy ingredients and only take 10 minutes to make. You have a delicious mix of fresh and crunchy lettuce, scallion and radish, creamy spicy shrimps and some furikake seasoning on top. These spicy prawns bites are easy to adapt according to food preferences and allergies (you can easily swap the Creme Fraiche and mayonnaise for vegan options). Serve them as appetizers, finger food or include them in a buffet or sharing dinner. They are both gluten, grain free and low carb.

These asian inspired spicy shrimp bites are great to serve as finger food, appetizers or evening snack. They're quick and easy to make and absolutely delicious.

Ingredients

For the spicy shrimps

  • 150 g Shrimps peeled and rinsed
  • 1 1/2-2 tbsp Creme fraiche
  • 1/2-1 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1/2-1 tsp Tamari or light soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp Lime
  • 1-1 1/2 tsp Sriracha (or more if you prefer it even spicier)
  • 1 Scallion thinly sliced
  • 1-2 tbsp Cilantro chopped

For serving

  • 6 small Lettuce leaves
  • 1/3 Scallion thinly sliced
  • 2 Radishes thinly sliced
  • Furikake or sesame seeds
  • Cilantro

Instructions

  • Peel and rinse the shrimps. Combine with the rest of the shrimp ingredients. Taste to check if more seasoning is needed. Place in the fridge until serving.
  • Prepare about 6 small lettuce leaves.
  • Divide the shrimps between the lettuce leaves, top with thinly sliced radish, scallion, furikake seasoning and cilantro.
