Black Bean Sliders

I love making small dishes.. that includes sliders. I just like how fresh and fancy it feels to eat a small slider rather than a big burger.. and you can have more of them. These slider are black bean slider served with my Easy Gluten Free Paleo Friendly Hamburger Buns. They are easy to make, have a lot of flavor and are perfect to serve either as an appetizer or eat a few of them as a main course. I like to keep both my burgers and sliders quite clean and easy. Just a few ingredients and not too messy. So I served these with just some guacamole, tomatoes and red onion.

Ingredients for the Black Bean Sliders:

  • Black beans
  • Egg (or flax seeds)
  • Yellow onion
  • Dijon mustard
  • Garlic powder
  • Chili powder
  • Salt
  • Avocado
  • Garlic
  • Lime
  • Red chili
  • Tomato
  • Red onion
  • Hamburger buns

Ingredients

For the black bean patties

  • 1 can Black beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 Egg (can be sustitued for 1 tbsp flax meal/ground flax seeds+ 3 tbsp water)
  • 0,5 Yellow onion minced
  • 1-2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Chili powder

For the guacamole

  • 1 Avocado peeled and pitted
  • 1 Lime juiced
  • 0,5-1 Red Chili finely chopped
  • 1 Garlic clove minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

For the Burger

  • 0,5 Tomato sliced
  • 0,5 Red onion sliced
  • Hamburger buns

Instructions

For the black bean patties

  • Fry the onion in a nonstick pan for a few minutes until golden brown.
  • Mash the rinsed black beans with a fork in a bowl. They should be almost fully mashed, but leave some chunck left.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients for the black bean patties in the bowl and mix everything together.
  • Add the fried onion as well.
  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celcius.
  • Form equally big patties and place on a parchment paper covered baking sheet.
  • Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes (depending on how big you make them). Flip halfways.

For the guacamole

  • Add the avocado in a bowl and mash with a fork.
  • Add rest of the ingredients and mix together.

For the sliders

  • Put one pattie on the bottom of a hamburger bun.
  • Top with gucamole, tomatoes and red onion.
