This recipe for pear sauce is simple, easy and so delicious. Having home made pear sauce at home is always a great idea! This sauce is vegan, sugar free and no conservatives added! Its almost silly easy to make and is one if my most used sauce I have at home. You really only need pears, cardamom and water to make it, and it only requires five minute of your time, then it cookes itself.

Pear sauce is my second most used fruit sauce at home, straight after apple sauce! I make it and use it in my porridge, eat it with pancakes, add it as topping for desserts and of course bake with it. It’s so incredibly easy to make, and much more delicious than the store bought. You only need your favorite pears, cardamom, a pot and some water. If I make it to use for breakfast or dessert topping I prefer to make it a bit chunky, not running it with a handmixer. But if I use it for baking, I make it the same way but mix it with a hand mixer to have it smooth.
This sauce can of course be made either without any spices just to have it plain, or you can experiment with different flavors and seasoning such as cinnamon, ginger, lemon or chili. This time I made mine with cardamom, just because I love the combination of pears and cardamom, its one of my all time favorite combinations.
Pearsauce is really great to use in baked goods. It can replace both sugar (acting as a sweetener, making you need less sugar) and butter/oil. It also provides moist and makes the baked goods more juicy and tender.
How to store applesauce:
Pear sauce should be stored in a boiled jar in the fridge. If stored in a boiled jar in the fridge it holds for approximately one week, but in my house it rarely last for that long. Make sure to either wash your jar in a dish washer or boil it before you add your applesauce to it. Also allow the pear sauce to cool completely before putting it in the fridge.
